About me
I describe my work as being a companionship process where different streams of psychology, spirituality, and human growth converge. This is how I manage an integrative framework allowing an authentic encounter with every human being to enhance their full potential, manage any life challenges, and overcome difficulties. For this process I offer my personal experience, my academic training and my full attention. As research shows, the personal relationship between the therapist and the client is the single most important factor leading to positive change. It is precisely within this alliance where the greatest benefits and possibilities reside.
I graduated from a Master in Psychology (MFT) in Miami, Florida, and trained as a mindfulness facilitator in UCLA, California. I got certified in Contemplative Psychotherapy in New York, and for the last ten years I have received intensive training in breathwork, yoga, and meditation. I integrate a diversity of models and frameworks to respond to my client´s needs through active collaboration. In this integrative approach there is an intersection of Buddhist psychology, a psychodynamic framework, systemic thinking, cognitive-behavioral models, and contemplative practices.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked for decades in media as a journalist, on-air host, screen writer, and producer. I received a Bachelor degree in Communications in Caracas, Venezuela, and worked for media outlets such as Union Radio, Discovery Channel, People and Arts, Radio Caracas Television, and Televen. As a guest, I´ve been invited to CNN en Español, Univision, Telemundo, Mega TV, Venevision International, and Mira TV. All these experiences in media have contributed to my skills as a therapist.
I have published seven books, including the novel, Una ola tras otra, a novel. I´m a cofounder at Inspirulina, a leading digital platform for Spanish content on health and wellbeing. Currently, I´m co-director for Mindfulnest, where we strive to offer high quality trainings on mindfulness. I´m also Board member for Bastion, a Florida-based foundation empowering intelligent philantropy.
I live in Miami, where I enjoy the sea whenever I have the chance.
